The NEST
NEST stands for “Neighbors, Entrepreneurs, Study, and Teach”.
The NEST was made possible through a collaboration between Jefferson Community College, Neighbors of Watertown, and Empire State Development. With funds from the state, the historic Strand and Lamon buildings were able to be connected and renovated. Much of the original brick and tin ceilings were restored and windows were added and enhanced to provide plenty of natural light through the space.
The vision is for the space to be alive with activity every day — from NEST members and office renters working, meeting, and collaborating, to the community gathering for seminars, conferences, concerts, and more.
We hope that you will take some time to attend an event or tour the space.
